Mckenna's lay down party

Everyday (literally everyday) there is something new with this little girl!  Yesterday was a "lay down party."  It began with Mckenna on the mic and Kiara, Ava, and I laying on our bed watching the show.  Then Tom came home and that is when Mckenna created the lay down party.  She said she needed everybody to lay down for a lay down party......

I keep thinking that in the future if Mckenna ever needs to share a video of herself when she was a little girl, I don't know how she is ever going to choose.  We have too many fantastic ones :)!!!

Random...

A lot has happened over the past few weeks that we have not shared with you.  Here is a quick overview of some of the exciting happenings here in Ohio!

Grandma and Grandpa took WONDERFUL care of Kiara, Mckenna, and Ava when Tom and I were in Austin.  The girls had a blast.  Here are a couple of pictures of their time together.

Bead City!!

"hanging" at the park.  (hahahaha - sometimes I think I am really funny!)
Love this Picture of Mckenna at the park with Grandma and Grandpa.
The girls favorite activity of the weekend was garage sale shopping.  Our neighborhood had a weekend sale and here is one of the treasures that Kiara found.

The following week was Mckenna's last at preschool.

Mckenna with a couple of her friends from school.  These are great girls and she loves having playdates with them as well.
Most of April and May was rainy.  When the sun came out, so did the sundresses and sunglasses!  The temperature hit the mid 90's as well (with humidity = HOT!)

Kiara and Mckenna have been in the sprinkler everyday for the past couple of weeks.  I love this pic because Mckenna came in for her goggles so her eyes didn't get wet!!

Gram and Gramps were here last weekend and we had a fantastic time. Kiara and Mckenna both had their last soccer games of the season and both teams won!
Mckenna had a great season and is excited to play again.

Kiara scored a goal in her last game.  We already have them both signed up for fall soccer!

Gram and Gramps got a tour of the Brown's facility.  Kiara and Mckenna love going to Daddy's work.

Ava's first picture on the field!

Great picture.  GO BROWNS!!!

We ended the weekend with a birthday dinner (for me) at Olive Garden.  It was such a great dinner - just look how happy these two are!

Ava is Moving Forward!!!

Ava is just over 11 months and is finally moving forward.  She has been spinning in circles and moving backwards for quite some time now but not forwards.  We cannot really call it crawling but she is definitely moving forward!

Kiara started crawling a little before 11 months at the same time she began walking around tables.  Since she started both at the same time, she never spent too much time crawling because walking was much more exciting.  Mckenna never crawled.  She scooted on her butt and then began walking after her 1st birthday.

As you can see, Ava is not much different from her sisters but this journey has been different.  Her older sisters did not have eye issues and did not spend once a week at a physical therapists office.  She began physical therapy because she had muscle problems in one side of her neck.  We took an aggressive approach because we did not know what difficulty she would have with development because of her sight issues.  As we began physical therapy, she tested in the 5th percentile in her development and has retested at the same percent a few more times since.  When we went to Ava's 9 month check up (at 10 months old), we had our first positive and FUN doctors appointment in a very long time.  Our pediatrician was so pleased and excited about where Ava was at.  She was ok that Ava was not crawling, and couldn't believe the progress she had made in every other area.  I explained to her that Ava is just a content baby and if she can't reach something, she just moves on.  She listened and confirmed what Tom and I had felt, that Ava was doing ok.  My favorite part of the appointment was when her Doctor said "I think Ava is just fine, she is looking at herself in the mirror right now and waving!"

Ava's physical therapist did not feel the same way.  She felt that Ava was still pretty far behind and wanted us to continue with PT.  So we have.  In our hearts we knew that Ava would catch up, like her sisters.  But in the back of our heads we would still wonder if something more was going on with her development.  What if her eyes are causing some perception issues or what if there are neurological issues.  That being said - we have had a VERY exciting weekend around the Headlee household.  Ava is moving forward.  It started yesterday and now today she is moving pretty fast!

YEAH AVA!!! We are so excited for her and excited for this next phase  (swiping her mouth of all the little toys she is putting in it :))
