Alexander Graham Bell

Kiara, along with all the other second graders and Drake Elementary, had to pick a famous person and become that person.  Kiara put together a speech and had to give it to any parents that wanted to learn about Alexander Graham Bell.  She probably recited her speech about 30 times!

Girl Scouts Tea

For Girl Scouts, Mckenna and I got to go to a mother-daughter tea.  Her girl scout troup made fancy headbands at a meeting.  These girls were really cute!!

Easter 2013

Coloring eggs is so much fun!

 

But it was WAY more fun with Uncle Steven!! His truck load of stuff was arriving in Michigan in a few days, so he drove up to spend Easter weekend with us.

 

 

Our park has an Easter egg hunt.  Here is the crew ready to find some eggs!

Dave Matthews Band

We have been to a lot of Dave concerts.  When we found out that Dave would be playing in Ohio and we would not be on vacation during that time, it was a no brainer.  The bonus was Steven was in Michigan and was able to come with us!

We are still having trouble with Ava's hand-eye, so when she sat down and drew lines to match the shapes, I was pretty excited!!

It is crazy that all of the activities are over for the year but we sure had a lot of fun!

Kiara's Award

 

Every student in Kiara's school participated in an art project.  They were given a bird named Blue and had to show Blue a favorite place.  They had to draw a picture of the favorite place and write a description of their artwork. 

 

Here is Kiara's drawing.

 

"If I could show Blue my favorite place, I would take her to the movie theater in Seattle to raise money for pediatric cancer research."

 



 

One winner was chosen in every class and Kiara was the winner in her class.  The prize was an hour art session with an Author/Illustrator that came to their school to work with the kids.  Kiara came home telling us she won this contest but we never knew what she made or wrote.  A few weeks after this competition when we were at the school and saw her artwork posted outside her classroom and read her description - we were amazed.  I think that is a special place to take Blue as well!

Last Day of School

I cannot believe it. Today is Mckenna's last day of Kindergarten and Kiara's last day of 2nd grade. Time has really flown......

These two were VERY excited this morning.  They picked their own outfits - Mckenna picked Kiara's shirt to wear (because now she is bigger :)) and Kiara picked her Ben Towne Foundation shirt. Mckenna asked for a braid in her hair and off they went.  It is SUMMER TIME!

A lot has happened since I last posted on our blog.  We have had visits from Steven, Heather, Emily, Avery, Gram, Gramps, and Grandpa.  Easter came and went, softball started for Kiara, Mckenna had her final gymnastics performance, Tom got let go from the Browns, we have booked our LONG trip to Seattle this summer, Kiara had a soccer tourney, we went to see Dave Matthews and much much more.  Lots of pictures to share and hopefully some time to do it!

Daddy is HOME!

Daddy is back from New York and all is good!
