Swim Party

There was a fundraiser at the rec and our friends made plans for a big group of girls to go together.  The event went from 6-9:30.  There was swimming, a dessert bar, minute to win it games, and raffle prizes.  They had a blast!

Kiara's last day of school party

Mckenna and I went to help with Kiara's last day of school party.  We are not supposed to bring children to these parties but since Mckenna will be in full day next year and I knew that Mrs. Whitecar wouldn't mind, we broke the rules.  It was so much fun to be a part of the end of year celebration.

 

 

 

Two students in every class received Artist of the year awards and Kiara was one of them!!

Mrs. Whitecar was a fabulous teacher and Kiara was so sad saying goodbye to her.  I think this will be a teacher that makes a lasting impression on Kiara. 

 

 

The end of Kiara's soccer season

Kiara had such a great year with her travel soccer team.  It was a GREAT group of girls, parents, and coaches and we know we were really lucky.  I wish we had film of the girls first game and last because you wouldn't think that they were the same group of girls.  In the fall they were a good soccer team but to end the season they were a great soccer team.  They finished the season winning a lot of their games (against 9 year old A teams) and winning a soccer tournament as well.  Kiara improved a ton but most importantly had fun and learned what it was like to be on a team and play as a team.  Here are some pictures of the end of the season........

 

 

 

 

 

Mckenna's end of the year girl scout party

We were so lucky to have a great group of girls in Mckenna's girl scout group this year.  She had a great time and they became really close.  The moms even became close and went out for drinks the other night.  One of the girls hosted the end of year BBQ and swim party.

Kiara's Soccer Tournament

Over Memorial Day weekend, Kiara's soccer team was in a soccer tournament.  They won all four games!  To watch the girls play so well together and finally beat nine year old teams was pretty exciting. 

Kiara had a awesome tournament.  She scored a couple of goals, had some assists, some great passes, and had a lot of fun!

The coaches on the other team got to choose 2 players that they felt deserved player of the game.  Kiara won the award after one of her games.

 

 

It was fantastic to have Grandpa here to watch the tournament as well.  What a fun weekend!

Grandpa came to visit over Memorial Day weekend and like always, it was great to have him here!  Tom didn't have to go to work so the 2 of them went golfing three times!

Grandpa arrived and immediately started reading to the girls.  Pretty awesome since this is one of their favorite activities to do!

For three years we have been so lucky with the amount of visitors that have been able to make the long trek to see us.  We have also felt lucky to have traveled back to Seattle as much as we were able to.  Even with all of these visits, we feel so far away from people that are important to us.  To have family move within driving distance is such a wonderful, calming feeling.  We know that everyone in Seattle was so sad to see Steven, Heather, Emily, and Avery move away from home - we were feeling the opposite.  We have gotten to see them a handful of times and every time has been wonderful (minus passing on our colds to their family :(....)  Here are some of the best pics from the time we have spent with them.

Swim Team

Kiara joined a swim team for the end of the school year so we could see if she liked it.  She did!! It was so much fun to see her out there swimming and having a great time.

Gymnastics

What a fun year of gymnastics for Mckenna.  She loved going every week and spent a lot of her free time at home, practicing her moves :)!  At the end of the year, they participated in a show where all the girls got to show off all they had learned.  Mckenna did such a great job and had so much fun!
